Since 2021, Dews of Joy has proudly supported TENG Gives Back, an initiative that brings therapeutic musical performances to vulnerable individuals, including patients in nursing homes, hospices, and treatment centers. Launched by TENG in 2018, this program has reached thousands of patients, caregivers, and healthcare staff, offering comfort and joy through music.

The program works closely with music therapists to deliver refreshing and accessible renditions of evergreen tunes, uplifting the spirits of those who need it most. TENG Gives Back focuses on three key objectives:
1. To share the gift of music beyond the stage to patients who are unable to attend concerts, as well as their family members and caregivers.
2. To evoke positive emotions and support the healing process among the terminally and chronically ill.
3. To bring comfort, joy, and something refreshing to long-term residents of community hospitals and nursing homes.

2024-2025

From April 2024 to March 2025, TENG Gives Back delivered 20 therapeutic performance sessions across 5 beneficiary organisations, reaching approximately 700 beneficiaries, including patients, caregivers, seniors and long-term residents in care settings. Each session was designed in consultation with music therapists, with the aim of bringing music to vulnerable individuals who are unable to attend public concerts.
Through live music, the project provided comfort, joy, emotional support and a sense of companionship to the terminally ill, chronically ill, elderly residents and individuals receiving long-term care. Staff from beneficiary organisations reported positive responses from patients and residents, including improved mood and engagement after the sessions. Participating musicians also found the experience meaningful, recognising the social impact of sharing music with these communities.

2023-2024

In FY2023, the programme delivered 41 online and live performances, reaching 2,232 beneficiaries. In FY2024, TENG Gives Back fully resumed live performances and delivered 46 performances, reaching 2,495 beneficiaries. Sessions were held across nursing homes, hospices, community hospitals, dialysis centres and eldercare facilities.
Each performance was thoughtfully designed to bring comfort, joy and emotional support to those who may not have the opportunity to attend public concerts. With the support of music therapists and care staff on-site, residents and patients were able to enjoy the music, interact with performers and, in some sessions, participate using small handheld instruments.
Beyond performance, the programme also extended into music education and targeted student programmes, giving young participants opportunities to build confidence, creativity and connection through drumming and music. Through these efforts, TENG Gives Back continues to show how music can uplift lives, strengthen communities and create meaningful moments of care.
